CPR/AED and First Aid Training

It takes ambulances an average of 8 minutes to respond once they get dispatched (it takes about 3 minutes for an emergency call to get routed to the correct agency for dispatch). Brain tissue starts to die within 4 minutes and brain damage is likely. After about 8 minutes, brain damage becomes irreversible. CPR helps prevent brain and heart damage, making community awareness and skills essential to a patient survival.

Classes are offered at Bodymindspiritworks in Grafton, WI or at another site of your choosing, and are limited to 18 students per class. Minimum class size for off-site instruction is 6 students.

These classes are conducted under the auspices of First Aid Plus. An AHA Training Center. American Heart Association certifications are valid for two years.

Jennifer D'Alessio is CC/NREMT-P Certified (National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians - Paramedic and University of Maryland Baltimore County Critical Care Emergency Medical Transport Program). She has been involved in full-time with the Emergency Medical Services for eleven years in Rochester, New York, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Jennifer has been a field trainer and adjunct faculty for the Public Safety Training Center through Monroe Community College for EMT and Paramedic courses since 2004, in addition to becoming an AHA Instructor in 2008.

CC/NREMT-P is the highest level of certification for Emergency Medical Technicians, helping to further bridge the gap between pre-hospital and hospital care. The most important goal of the EMT is to assure that EMS professionals caring for patients in their moment of highest need are competent. The CCEMTP is a specialized care provider that has an understanding of both pre-hospital and in-hospital aspects of patient care, and uses the understanding to provide the highest level of care to critical patients during transport.
